What is Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)?
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program is an agreement between Canada’s federal government and the four provinces in the region. The must requirement for an applicant to qualify for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, is that the applicants must have an official job offer. The applicant is exempted from requirement of having a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) for the job, but, for the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, the job offer must be from a designated employer. Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) has three streams:
Atlantic High-Skilled Program
The Atlantic High-Skilled Program is aimed at skilled workers who have management, professional or technical/skilled job experience. Also, the applicants must have a job offer for at least one year.
Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program
The Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program is useful for applicants who are aiming at jobs which require a high school education and/or job-specific training.
Atlantic International Graduate Program
The Atlantic International Graduate Program is aimed at candidates who have a degree, diploma or other credential from a publicly-funded institution in an Atlantic province. Applicants applying under this stream do not require any work experience. Job offer must be for at least one year.
Atlantic High-Skilled Program
Job Offer Requirement
Applicants must have a full-time, non-seasonal, job offer in skill type/level 0, A, or B, that lasts at least one year from an AIP-designated employer. The job offer does not require LMIA and need not be in same occupation as previous experience, but, NOC requirements for the said job must be met by the applicant.
Work Experience
Applicant must have at least one year (1,560 hours) of paid work experience (full-time, non-continuous, or part-time) within last 3 years before applying. herein, volunteering or unpaid internships will not count.
Education
Applicant must have a Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree or an ECA for a foreign degree which equivalate to Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree.
Language
Applicant is required to have minimum CLB 4 in English or French.
Proof of Funds
Applicant must have enough money to support himself and his dependents in Canada. Herein, applicant who is already living and working in Canada with a valid work permit, does not require to show proof of funds.

Atlantic International Graduate Program
Job Offer Requirement
Applicants must have a full-time, non-seasonal, job offer in skill type/level 0, A, B, or C, that lasts at least one year from an AIP-designated employer. The job offer does not require LMIA and need not be in same occupation as previous experience, but, NOC requirements for the said job must be met by the applicant.
Work Experience
No work experience is required.
Education
A completed educational credential (minimum 2 years) from an institution in an Atlantic province where the applicant lived for at least 16 months in one of the Atlantic province in the final two years of study. This credential must have been completed within the previous 24-months. An applicant’s study shall not qualify under this stream, if, the applicant had:
- English or French second language courses for more than half of the program.
- Distance learning undertaken for more than half of the program.
- Applicant is under requirement of a scholarship or a fellowship to go back to his/her home country after graduation..
Language
Applicant is required to have minimum CLB 4 in English or French.
