British Columbia has introduced major changes to its Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) for
2025, focusing on healthcare professionals for permanent residency. This move aims to address
labor shortages and strengthen the province’s healthcare workforce.

Key Updates to the BC PNP:

  • Only 1,100 new nomination applications will be accepted in 2025.
  • Most of these are reserved for healthcare professionals under the Health Authority stream.
  • Only direct healthcare providers are eligible for this targeted stream.

Eligible Healthcare Occupations Include:

  • Physicians, Nurses, Dentists, Pharmacists, Social Workers, Physiotherapists
  • Medical Technologists, Sonographers, Radiation Technologists
  • Psychologists, Dietitians, Paramedics, Massage Therapists, Midwives, and more

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have a full-time, permanent job offer from a B.C. public health authority
  • Occupation must be on the eligible list
  • Must meet other conditions outlined in the Skills Immigration Program Guide
