What is Canada Global Talent Stream?

Global Talent Stream is part of Temporary Foreign Worker program, whereby foreign nationals with specific skills and recommendations, can be hired by Canadian companies and businesses. It is the fastest program, whereby, foreign nationals can get a work permit to work in Canada. An employer is required to have a  Labour Market Benefits Plan under Global Talent Stream which is made by working in conjunction with  Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). Also, obtaining LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessments) for foreign worker is essential for this stream. But, herein, the process of obtaining LMIA is fast-tracked. There are 2 streams under Canada Global Talent Stream:
  1. Category A Stream
  2. Category B stream
*Global Talent Stream is helpful in getting Temporary work Permit in Canada, but, after coming here and working for one year, one can apply in Canadian Experience Class program as well as various PNP programs.

2 Streams under Canada Global Talent Stream

1. Category A Stream

An employer is eligible under Category A of the Global Talent Stream, if he has been referred by any one the following designated partner's of the stream:

2. Category B Stream

An employer is eligible for Category B of the Global Talent Stream, if the foreign worker which the employer is hiring is highly-skilled, and the person being hired is for position categorised under the following in-demand occupations Global Talent Occupations List:

Producer, technical, creative and artistic director and project manager – Visual effects and video game

**The position must require a minimum of 3 years of experience in the visual effects, video game or animation industries in 1 or a combination of the following roles: producer, technical director, creative director, artistic director or project manager, senior coordinator, department manager, with 3 years of job experience in at least 1 or more of the following skills relevant to the visual effects, video game or animation industries: surfacing and look development; character or simulation rigging; matte painting; managing budgets or teams; or technical pipeline development and application for visual effects, video games, or animation production.

Digital media designers

***The position must require a minimum of 3 years of job experience in at least 1 of the following digital media design skills: 3D modeling, compositing, paint and roto, layout and match move, digital environment and Matte painting, texture, lighting shading, character effects, effects and simulations, design and scenario, rigging, user interface or user experience, responsive design (for gaming), virtual reality, augmented reality, digital media animation, levels editing for digital media design, software editing for digital media design, pipeline software development or applications relevant for digital media design
